These surface gauges are handy, well proportioned and rigid. Composed of a heavy, cast iron base and a mild steel rod supporting a scriber which has tempered points. Common sizes are listed below but gauges with longer spindles, up to 1,000 mm in the round base and 2,000 mm in the square base are available upon request.
